The Album is called 'of art and intention' the artist dilly dilly . Recorded here in Southern Maine. The record got reviewed locally in the local weekly rag (Portland Phoenix) by PT local music writer Sam Pfeifle;
",,,With a vibe a lot like Bon Iver's (and I had that in my notes before I read her shout-out in the liner notes), the album is a construct, meshing the organic reality of any number of stringed instruments with the bleeps and bloops of manufactured beats and keyboard sounds. It is ethereal and grounded, sharp and raw and smooth and polished. Dilly does most of it herself, often playing three or four instruments, but she gets help from Jason Ingalls (Seekonk and Satellite Lot, among others) on drums recorded at Acadia, along with guest spots from Alias, Spencer Albee, Sontiago, and Fresh Kills.,,,"
This album is destined for a much larger audience than just the local Portland music scene, much like the music of her "other band" Cerebus Shoal where Dilly Dilly's (Erin's) musical worldliness was and continues to be honed along with a myriad of other projects.
The album she decided would be a free download although she wants people to donate what and if they can, actually here are her words;
dilly dilly *of art and intention* First official full-length album now available for Download!
Well, hello there again!
It official, Of Art And Intention is now available FOR FREE, online only release, with option to donate.
I've been striving and struggling in the music world for seventeen of my many years alive and I decided to take matters into my own hands. I mean... If it worked for Radiohead it could potentially work for me too! As we all know, record companies are receding and it's getting increasingly hard to make music something the musicians themselves can benefit from. With any luck, the money I make from this release online will fund a physical pressing in the future.
Thank you for your time and consideration for review and/or promotion.
