Death By Stampede @ Wally World (R.I.P. Jdimytai Damour ) (from "Cyber Monday's" Democracy Now)

Wal-Mart Worker Crushed to Death in Early Morning Stampede of Shoppers on
Black Friday
(Note; MP3 file is the actual portion of Democracy Now! the hour long program and runs close to 6 minutes)
(copied from Amy's site)
A Wal-Mart employee in Long Island, New York died after being trampled to death by a mob of shoppers on Friday, the traditional first day of the holiday shopping season. The 34-year-old worker Jdimytai Damour was killed after a crowd of 2,000 broke down store doors and ran over him shortly before the store"s schedule 5 a.m. opening. Four shoppers were injured in the stampede. Nassau County police were trying to determine what happened during the stampede, but said it was unclear if there would be any criminal charges [includes rush transcript].

What a horrible way to go and yet if you listen to this story you have to wonder how Wal-Mart gets away with this especially knowing that the doors of said Valley Stream Wal-Mart came off their tracks last year as well. I hope the family files suit and OSHA fines the @#$%^&* out of Wal-mart.

How terrible is this. How do you step on a person and not know it?

Or was that deal the many scrambled over this man untrained in crowd control, a temporary worker who became a nuisance obstacle to be stepped on by the rushing lemmings-mob so those many would not miss out on their "important" deals. Group insanity, fostered by clever marketing tactics
anesthetized the humanity, common sense and decency right out of the mob who chose to go get their deal than to stop the onslaught. It is so telling about our culture, so incredibly twisted is the story, on top of which Wal-Mart stated to ABC news this morning that adequate safety measures & procedures were taken,,, Hello,,, You do not die doing your job @ Wal-Mart if proper sane safety measures are followed.
I think Wal-Mart continues to show inept leadership & a failure in taking real responsibility vis-a-vis their corporate comments this morning.
I feel very sad for his parents who will have to bury him.
